its not hard to find software for the mac, just pricey if you want photoshop
aperture/lightroom is pretty cheap 250-300 bucks

i got a dual core 2ghz G5, and love it
(work computer is a octocore 2.8ghz mac pro with about 8gb of ram, the word quick just doesnt cover it)

enjoy your mac, im so glad i switched.

do you have an old copy ?
even a windows copy ?

you can upgrade/swap platforms for about half the price of buying CS4 new - it has to be a legit copy though

of course a pirate copy is free, but thats not legal


where can i find people who give macbooks as gifts ???
2gb of ram wont cost much, you can do it yourself pretty easy (and im fairly sure that swapping Ram and HDD doesnt affect warranty - but the new ram and hdd arent covered under the warranty - check with apple first though - or get a service centre to do it)

i managed to get a stupidly good deal on the g5 - so stupidly good that it was worth it just for the legit copy of CS2 - never mind the mac it came on (being twice the speed of my old PC didnt hurt either

ahhh the good ol BBB.... might is crapping it self going into SOS mode and INSERT SIM CARD and turning off... perhaps just updating the firmware will do!

Yes...... I have CS2 and 7 on PC but not yet (CS3/4) on Mac... I would like it on Mac... soo i'm 'getting' it as we speak ha

Yeh, don't think I will upgrade the HDD... 80GB i'm happy with atm, and always using external hard drives!

externals are all good too, my 250gb is full, everything is on DVD too

my bold has been great so far, just discovered blackberry messenger
yours should still be under warranty, maybe back it up (on ur PC) and then take it in to be fixed/swapped (after your try updating the F/W of course)

yea, they are pretty good, the numbering/naming was a bit strange on one of them, i think your camera clicked over 9900 shots, then the numbers changed to like 0250 - and there was some files that werent named.
ahh well, they just went into the system with, *name not in list*

i dont know how you guys manage it, it would drive me nuts trying to shoot and do the name bit.

one of the social photogs names the images date_eventname_number.jpg
renames them in the computer starting at #1 - dunno how they manage, it would do my head in


at least your bb is getting fixed - sucks to be without it for 2-3 weeks
i have just gone and got me a new macbook its awesome, i love this multi touch trackpad thing
they really thought about what they were doing
